It was Tuesday, April 20, 2009, in Littleton, Colorado two kids, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold entered their small town high school on a rampage. In just under an hour the two had killed 15 people and left another 23 injured. The number of people affected by the largest school shooting in history is unknown. Everyone probably remembers gathering around the television and watching the event unfolding; wondering why. Now ten years later, the images and thoughts of that day are still there.
Getting a tattoo in honor of a fallen loved one is common. It makes one wonder how many individuals bear a columbine flower tattoo in honor of those that were lost at the school that day. Tattoos often represent a symbol of ongoing life for an individual that will never be forgotten. Many people bear the name of the loved one scripted on their arm. Many will have a picture of the individual portrayed on their shoulder. Others will look for a symbol, such as a flower, that represents the individual they are remembering. The Columbine flower is known for its beautiful color, often white with purple pedals. This flower tattooed on an individual would be a great representation for the loss during the Columbine shooting.
This school shooting is one that will always be remembered and those lives that have been lost will also be remembered, whether it’s through photos, memories, or even tattoos.
