Marines Ban Tattoos Removing Public Perception

Marines have always been America’s iconic tough guy persona known to have bulging bicep “guns” detailed with bold tattoos.  Ironically, tattoo popularity has tattoos visibly becoming “The American Way,” while America’s almigthty Marines are removing tattoos.

Explicit orders from the top general of the Marine Corps initiated a ban on sleeve tattoos within the organization.  Sleeve tattoos are those tattoos located on the biceps “guns” or forearms, in other words below the uniform sleeve.

Going forward individuals already having tattoos are exempt from the tattoo ban, however all new recruits will not be allowed to have visible tattoos below the uniform sleeve line, thus leaving no choice for wanna-be marines than removing tattoos.

Tattoos Fading Fad or Fixed Fashion

The recent surge of tattoo recognition has created much confusion over whether tattoos are a fading fashion fad that will be followed by a fading tattoo removal revival, or whether tattoos are truly a fixed fixation

Recently, the resurgence in tattoo popularity and body piercing has many minds dismissing tattoo fixation as another fashion trend.  While others disagree with the notion that tattoos will become a fading fad, given the fact the tattoo ink is somewhat of a permanent accessory considering it is etched into the skin and all.

Ironically, the confusion over tattoos seems to stem from the individuals having tattoos and how they regard their own ink.

For a large majority of those with tattoos, one moment they view their tattoos as creative, decorative body “art” while the next minute they defend their tattoos as being significant works of internal self-preservation and expression.  So which are they… are their tattoos “immaterial” fashion wares or inner substance outerwear?

The true design of fashion is that it is forever fleeting.  So if fashion is not forever, and tattoos are forever “forever”, then tattoos surely cannot be a mere fashion fad, or can they?

Definitely Maybe Tattoo Removal

What is ”in” today is out tomorrow.  What’s hot one minute is not the next.  It seems nothing has any permanence anymore, evident with the removal of tattoos, and the growing number of people lining up to remove unwanted ink.   Tattoos were once the iconic symbol of permanent and forever, but now tattoos phase in and fade out along with the rest of life’s passing phases.

Yesterday’s young, single, impulsive, and tattooed are tomorrow’s middle aged, married, conformists getting tattoos removed.  The irreversible and irredeemable fears of permanent tattoos are being removed by advance tattoo removal technology.

Today, indecisiveness and noncommittal are “no problem” when it comes to tattoos. Blame it on new know-how or good old fashion regret, either way you break it down tattoos are coming off.

But what is unreal are the number of noncommittal in the middle who have always wanted a tattoo but have been afraid of the permanence, yet now these people are looking forward to getting tattooed with removable ink.   Perhaps, they feel with this new fangled ink they will be getting a real tattoo when, in fact, they really won’t be.

The fact is, tattoos were once the ultimate symbol of permanent commitment, and now are easily removed from existence.  Maybe this is definitely a sign of the path technology is moving the world forward on, or rather rewind, remove, and forward on.

Temporary Tattoos the New Expecting Mummy Trend

There’s a new trend “popping out” among expecting moms that are feeling “from here to maternity” as they face the “big bump” of the final weeks of pregnancy… the big ta-do is DIY temporary tummy tattoo trend.

Today, mommies-to-be are loud and proud about being pregnant, as they should be.  Temporary tattoo designs are a way to celebrate the overflowing joy of carrying unborn child by decorating their overwhelming baby bellies with whimsical henna tattoo designs.

Although temporary tattoos are a new maternity mode emerging in fashion, applying temporary henna tattoos on the belly of expecting mothers near the end of a pregnancy is a ritual of some cultures that has been practiced for centuries.

In some cultures applying henna tattoos to the tummy of expecting mothers is believed to protect and bless both the mother and child against difficult labor and delivery.

Whether the designs are intended to defend or decorate, temporary tummy tattoos are a fun loving way for expanding moms-to-be to enjoy their maternity as they grow closer to giving birth to their precious new baby.

Just to be extra safe, pregnant mothers should always check with their doctors before decorating their baby bellies with temporary henna tattoos.

Deep Dark White Secret

Barely visible, yet unbearable to bare. White ink tattoos are the latest trend gaining momentum among celebrities.

The emerging trend of white ink, tattoo designs created with nothing but white ink are a bit of a contradiction to traditional tattooing.  Traditionally, tattoos are bold, often colorful designs intended to standout and draw attention; and while white ink tattoos do stand out and draw attention, it’s done in a different manner.

The lure of white ink is apparently its subtlety.  White tattoos are discreet and unnoticeable, unless you are looking for them.  And the put off of white tattoos; white ink tats are prone to fading and discoloration, which can be disappointing.

Ironically, white ink tattoos are best on light or fair skin tones, as darker skin cannot absorb enough of the white ink for tattoo images to appear.

Getting white ink is much more painful than traditional tattooing.  The white ink used is thicker than other tattoo inks, thus requires a larger, very sharp needle for injections.  Also, white tattoos require several passes over the area to make sure that the white ink sinks fully into the skin

When a white ink tattoo is first applied, it looks puffy and distorted, much like a burn, and often appears yellowish in color. Once the tattoo heals the white ink leaves a ghostly image that looks quite different from a traditional tattoo.

The downsides to white tattoos are they are notoriously hard to heal; absolutely cannot have sun exposure, as white ink fades tattoo almost twice as fast as a regular tattoo inks; and white ink commonly causes skin reactions with swelling and itching that leads to the ink oozing from the tattoo.

Despite all of this, there are still people with white ink tattoos, who are extremely satisfied.  However, the majority of us mistakenly confuse white ink tattoos for scars or brandings.

If you are considering a white ink tattoo, do your research carefully, as these tattoos can easily go very, very wrong.

Fake Fashion with Temporary Tattoos

Fake is Fashionable

It’s true, “fake” really is the “in trend” in fashion these days.  It seems tattoos of the not-so-permanent kind are the “hip style” when it comes to accessorizing.  Even though they are fake, temporary tattoos make “real” sassy fashion statements, not to mention great topics of conversation.

Another bonus, fake tattoos offer a way to step outside your comfort zone, while staying clear of the all to common ground of ‘tattoo regret.’

Temporary tattoos are becoming trendier then their trend-setting etched counterparts.  Not-so-permanent tattoos offer a means of emulating the reckless abandonment of permanent ink without the aftermath of regret and the hassle of tattoo removal

Fake tatts are popping up everywhere, and on everyone. Famous celebrities, professional athletes, and supermodels are faking ink in the movies, advertising commercials, and in magazine fashion spreads.

With fake celebritiy tattoos fueling the hip ink frenzy, companies like TattooFashionTemptu, and Tattoo Shock, are having a grand ride aboard the temporary tattoo bandwagon.

So, if you are considering temporary tattoos, but are worried you’ll look like a fake phony for not digging the real deal, consider this–

Fashion is fleeting and so to fake tattoosPermanent tattoos not so much. Real tattoos are like wearing not-so-hip bell-bottoms when slim skinny cigarette [pants] are in chic.

Let’s be real, fake tattoos are the real deal in fashion these days.  Remember, don’t make a tattoo mistake, and go fake.

women of female tattoos

Women and Female Tattoos

Female tattoos once discrete, tainted secrets kept under wraps are now surfacing as overt, bold, public presentations out and about in plan view. Females are no longer quiet, soften spoken, and reserved about views.  Today’s women are assertive, persuasive, and outspoken about their beliefs, opinions, and their female tattoos.

Women are now making the tattoo scene, and in a big way.  In 2007, there are more female tattoo artists and female tattoo studio owners than ever before.

The best part about women moving into what was once a men’s tattoo world is they are introducing innovative design elements, and along with it are changing the location and placement of female tattoos.

For the last 15 years, lower backs were the only place women got tattoos. No more. Gone are the days when women lined up, one behind the other to get lower back designs believing this female tattoo was the sexiest thing on earth.

Today, women are much more creative, daring, and bold when it comes to the locations on their bodies females are getting tattoos. Upper back tattoos on women are taken over the fashion world.  Female upper back tattoos are also sprawling to cover the entire backs of women with tattoo designs.

Tattoo sleeves are another design trend common of women tattoos.  Female full sleeve tattoos are considered extremely feminine, and alluring body work. Instead of skulls, snakes, and cross bones, female tattoo designs often-incorporate dragonflies, butterflies, fairies, and fish tattoos.

Women are transforming tattoo design world by introducing an element of style, imagination and creativity with their female tattoos. Using traditional tattoo designs like sacred hearts and sparrows as backdrop canvas, then add intricate details and imaginative elements that feminize tattoo designs with a modern twist.

Female tattoos have introduced another fascinating layer to the tattoo industry with embellished tattoo designs, and women alike.
