Way Doctors are Lowering the Cost of Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal is something that most people think of as being very expensive, therefore it is an expense they must plan, save for, and budget into their finances.  Then there are others that think the cost of tattoo removal is too expensive and should be similar to the price of getting a tattoo.  Many of these people cannot justify the cost of tattoo removal, so they choose to live with a tattoo they regret and want to remove.

While, the process to remove a tattoo is definitely not as easy as some people think, the price to remove a tattoo does not have to be as expensive as people think; there is a way for doctors to lower the cost of tattoo removal.

The cost of tattoo removal with lasers is an expensive process on its own.  The unknown cost of an unknown number of laser treatments, performed by a physician supervised medical professional, has laser treatments averaging $200-400 per session.  If all of these factors make laser tattoo removal appear expensive, that is because laser usually is expensive.

But new research of home tattoo removal products results in a way to safely and effectively speed up the process to remove tattoos, improve the final removal results, and at the same time lower the cost of tattoo removal with lasers.

The latest development is a combination tattoo removal approach of home tattoo removal mixed with laser tattoo removal.  Combining lasers with home tattoo removal makes the cost to remove tattoos more affordable by reducing number of expensive laser treatments needed to effectively remove tattoos.

Doctors are suggesting patients use a home tattoo removal product such as WreckingBalm to pre fade tattoos before initial laser treatment, to help reduce the overall amount of scar tissue that occurs from laser treatments, as well as to effectively remove the tattoo pigment colors that lasers are not able to target and remove.

Patients benefit from the lower cost of tattoo removal, a reduction in the number of painful laser treatments, fewer appointments and schedule conflicts, as well as faster and more complete tattoo removal results.

Doctors benefit from having more patients satisfied with their tattoo removal experience that then tell more friends and family about their laser doctor’s lower cost tattoo removal.  The combination approach of home tattoo removal with lasers offers a way to lower the cost of tattoo removal so more people can stop saving and planning to remove tattoos, and can actually afford the cost to start removing tattoos.

Oh No Barbie, Not Tattoos and Leather

Barbie, the world’s most infamous celebrity blonde is approaching 50; and like many of her middle-aged friends, Barbie is desperately trying to reinvent herself as a celebrity bad girl with tattoos.

Barbie has lived an ageless life since she first graced us with her presence in 1959.  Her savvy fashion trends, fabulously long golden blond hair, and an unrealistic fit, trim body are some of her attributes that earned her celebrity status as America’s everything girl icon.  But it seems the years are catching up with Barbie and she is discovering she is not nearly as cool and hip as she used to be.  Barbie, now older, tattooed, and less of an icon is extremely nervous about her future celebrity status.

But all of this isn’t making Barbie become a girl that retreats to her Dream House to soothe her woes; no Barbie is working hard, perhaps too hard to get back in with the cool crowd.

Barbie Millicent Roberts is one girl who is not afraid to change.  Over the past 49 years, Barbie has had 75 careers including rock star, astronaut, and presidential candidate.  Barbie is one Baby Boomer who has definitely experienced her share of highs and lows.

1997 was a particularly hard year for Barbie in terms of celebrity media and controversy.  Then in her 40’s, Barbie got a butterfly tattoo on her stomach, as an attempt to stay hip and cool.

But it didn’t take long for Barbie’s tattoos to take off  and brand her name (the word Barbie) as a derogatory term meaning girl or woman considered shallow.  The term “Barbie” exploided as an Urban Slang word with the release of 1997 pop song “Barbie Girl.”

In 1999, rumors spread of Barbie’s intentions of hanging out with new friends with trendy tattoos, nose rings, and extra body piercings.  Then the peer pressure got to Barbie, and as a result she underwent plastic surgery transformation.  Barbie had her waistline increased in size in order to have a less perfect figure, that others would view as a more realistic, average body shape.

Barbie became an outlaw in part of the World in 2003.   Denounced as a symbol of depravity of the perverted West, with her revealing clothes, tattoos, and shameful postures Barbie was banned by Saudi Arabia’s religious police and forbidden from the kingdom.

The 2004 announcement of Barbie’s split with Ken; longtime boyfriend of 43 years came as a shock to many, but like other celebrity couples, their Hollywood romance had come to an end. And while Barbie admits the breakup was a painful time of great heartache, she also jokes about being glad she decided on a butterfly tattoo instead of a tattoo of Ken’s name.  Apparently having to go through tattoo removal to remove a tattoo of “Ken’s”name would have been much more painful than the breakup.

Gone are the Days of Old School Tattoo Removal

Today, people are fortunate to have several different methods of tattoo removal to choose from.  And, within the past ten years, newer tattoo removal technology has also made tattoo removal easier and less painful than the days of old school tattoo removal.

Ironically, the most popular tattoo removal methods ten years ago are rarely performed today.  Dermabrasion, cryosurgery, and excision were the well known ways to remove tattoos, but now they are thought of as “old school” tattoo removal.

Dermabrasion actually sands the skin to remove the surface as well as the middle layers.  As you can imagine, sanding off layers of skin can be very painful, especially if tattoos are large. With dermabrasion tattoo removal usually the majority of a tattoo can be removed, but there are some tattoos that dermabrasion has not been successful at removing.

Cryosurgery is another old school tattoo removal method that doctors used in the past. This technique requires freezing the tattoo skin before attempting dermabrasion.  Freezing the skin makes the procedure fairly painless during removal, but as soon as the skin thaws pain sets in, and the pain can be extremely uncomfortable.

Excision is the literally the old school removal of tattoos where a doctor cuts out and removes the tattoo with a scalpel. After the tattoo is removed the remaining skin is stitched together with sutures leaving behind a scar.  Large tattoos often require skin grafts in order to close area where the tattoo once existed and now remains a wound.

Tattoo removal has most certainly made significant progress making it much easier and less painful to remove tattoos today, in comparison to the old school tattoo removal methods used just 10 years ago.

Rib Tattoos Remove Tramp Stamp Tattoo Trend

The economy may be heading in the wrong direction, but that doesn’t mean tattoos are, especially women tattoos.  These days tattoos are looking up, or rather moving up for women.  The new rising tattoo trend has women removing tattoo “stamps” on their lower backs, and opting for the new sexy tattoo trend — Rib Tattoos.

Almost as soon as the derogatory, sexually humiliating term “tramp stamp” reared women with lower back tattoos began getting tattoo removal and trading in their tainted tattoos for new sexy rib tattoos that crawl up the side of their bodies.

Today’s weak economy is changing the tattoo industry in terms of women’s tattoo trends.  Although, the rate of women getting their first tattoos doesn’t seem to be decreasing, the amount of money women are spending on their tattoos is.

Other emerging tattoo trends for women are celebrity name tattoos, especially popular these days Nicole Richie rosaries; vintage American tattoos such as skulls, hearts, stars, and anchors; Japanese (koi fish, ocean waves) styles; as well as a swing from English-style block lettering to fancier script letters.

Expect many women to follow the celebrity tattoo trends of Megan Fox and her rib cage tattoo with the words “There once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART” until someone creates a derogatory, sexually humiliating term for women rib cage tattoos like “Ho handle.”

Don’t let a tattoo fester with possible infection. If you suspect problems with your new tattoo such as redness or soreness don’t wait, as these are signs your tattoo have an infection.  Infections are serious and must be treated properly to avoid serious illness.

The Pain and Hurt of Laser Tattoo Removal

Yes, the technology is sophisticated, brilliant, advanced, and for many effective, yet the reality of laser tattoo removal still exists…  laser tattoo removal hurts.

When it comes to laser tattoo removal; it’s is easier said than done.   People like to compare the feeling of tattoo removal to the experience of getting a tattoo, however there is a big difference.  Getting a tattoo requires having to endure one not so relaxing session, while laser tattoo removal requires multiple sessions of pain, each as painful as the treatment before.

Of course everyone’s idea of what “hurts” differs, but overall the general concensus across the board is that laser tattoo removal hurts.   Aside from individual levels of pain tolerance, there are some tattoos that actually do hurt more during laser tattoo removal than others.  Ironically, tattoos done by professional tattoo artists v.s. amateur artist can hurt more to remove with laser treatments because the tattoo ink is deeper in the skin.

Another factor that can impact how much laser tattoo removal hurts is the actual substance the tattoo ink is made of due to the chemical reaction that results from intense laser energy.

But the true “ouch” test of how much laser tattoo removal hurts comes when the old hand is placed on the wallet.  The people seemingly unaffected by the painful sting and burn of powerful lasers zaps are usually the people that experience real pain in their pocketbooks when it comes to paying the expensive price of laser tattoo removal.

Ouch is right when it comes to how much laser tattoo removal hurts.
