Tattoos on Bottom of Corporate Ladder

With so many people getting tattoos these days, are tattoos truly hindering professional advancement within corporate careers.

Many corporations maintain a strict dress code policy against visible tattoos, especially companies engaging with the general public.

Careerbuilders conducted a workplace study regarding tattoos and aspiring professionals. The results concluded that conventional corporate companies view tattoos as a sign of immaturity, bad judgment and bad taste.

While many people out there getting tattoos want to believe society is “loosening its tie” so to speak and corporate companies are becoming more accepting of people with tattoos.  These people need to step back and reassess the situation.

All kidding aside, don’t kid yourself if you think tattoo intolerance is getting better or does not exist within corporate America. If you look at any one of the Fortune 50 companies, you will be hard pressed to find any tattoos, hidden or otherwise in middle management and above.

The importance of hiding or removing tattoos for professionals seeking advancement up the corporate career ladder is just as significant today.
